I’ll Be Around- Modern Myth

Evan wrote this in July of last year, when he was in Oregon and I was in Michigan. I had just gotten tested for my gene, and was really doubting myself and how I would handle my life. A lot of the time, I think waiting for the results was worse than getting the positive result. I started thinking that if I was positive, I was “damaged” or “broken” and Evan wouldn’t want me anymore. It was a really rough time in my life…around midnight on one particularly terrible evening, Evan sent me a demo recording of this song.

It hurts my self-esteem to look at her, and realize she is more beautiful than I’ll ever be…and she JUST turned 13.
